05 grain hard cast lead FN @ 1530 fps. 96 rounds
This was a fun product development project for our staff. We built these rounds specifically for a British Columbia Moose and Bear hunt. We started with Rim Rock's hard cast (12-15 BHN) lead projectiles, over a proven powder charge, perfectly crimped into new Starline Brass. This round is designed to be an accurate load in carbines and rifles. We specifically kept the velocity below 1600FPS, to maximize the performance in Marlin rifles with the 5R rifling. We routinely shot a 1.2" group at 100 yards, but as soon as we moved past 1600 FPS, accuracy went out the window. Note to customers, when testing, do not shoot 300 rounds in one day, ask me how I know.
This is a 96 round box. Odd number, sure...its what fits in our bulk box. We will be offering these in 20 round packs, but our packaging supplier just closed their USA operations, and we're trying to find another US supplier.
