40 S&W "Heavy" 180 grain XTP @1,020 fps. 50 round box
This is a heavy hitting load that delivers a high velocity for its projectile weight. It is both clean burning and accurate. Hornady's XTP is famous for it's controlled expansion and bonded jacket. Designed to deliver expansion of 1.5 x it's diameter, insuring deep penetration.
Not all barrels are created equal, chronographs don't always agree with each other and atmospheric conditions affect velocities. That being said, we believe that you can expect to get around 1,020 fps out of a 4.5" barrel with this round.
